The speed limits on numerous highways in eastern Oregon will increase this year. The changes are set to take effect on March 1, 2016 and the Oregon Department of Transportation is currently working to install new signs ahead of the change.
The speed limit is set to increase to 65 mph in some areas and to 70 mph in other areas. The changes will take place on sections of U.S. Highway 97, U.S. Highway 20, state Highway 31, Interstate 84, U.S. 95 and OR 78.
